As we close out the second decade of the 2000's '80s fashion trends are still making a comeback. Everyone is taking to the 80s train from runways to the fast fashion brands. Why not continue reinventing this amazing and timeless style era?
Fashion in the 80s of the 1980s vs. 80s Fashion
Early 80s fashion was coming out of the disco-era prior to it and was rather tame compared to the latter half of the decade, which introduced the now iconic colors of the 1980s. The first time we saw it was with the aerobics-inspired streetwear of tights, tracksuits, and worn-down sweaters. Women wore kitten heels and wide-legged pants in a professional setting. The mid-80s saw fashions became more vibrant with power-wearing outfits including oversized shoulders thanks to shows like "Dynasty" and "Dallas".
Late 80s fashion was slightly reduced, but not by much. Faux fur was introduced, shoulder pads were slightly decreased and mini skirts were the most sought-after. Dynasty's pouf and taffeta dresses were fashionable, as were the bright opaque tights. Soon we'd be entering the punk era.
